Welcome
For the past 4 years, Cerritos Baptist Church has participated in short-term mission trips to Baja, Mexico. Twice a year, we travel to Baja to serve God's children and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We have two ministry teams: construction and children's outreach. The construction team consists of 20-25 persons who build the house and latrine. The children's outreach team consists of 5-7 persons who reach out to the local children of the community and use arts & crafts, games, and music to share the gospel.
We have partnered with Baja Christian Ministries and Team Casa de Dios to build houses and latrines for needy families. For economic reasons many of the families are forced to live in cardboard shanties or shacks with dirt floors. The average wages for most men are approximately $50 USD per week.
It is our hope to build 50 homes by the year 2020. To date, we have built 7 homes. No experience is necessary to serve on either team. However, since we are traveling abroad we do ask that all participants be at least 15 years old and that all minors (younger than 18) be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All you need is a willing heart and the desire to learn new things.
